Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control Policy for Therapy sessions and treatments

 

Please read the following guidance before attending the appointment for your Reiki Treatment.

 

Before your appointment

  • If you or any of the people you live with feel ill, have been diagnosed with or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise me as soon as possible and DO NOT COME FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.

  • If you answer yes to the following questions the day before your appointment, please contact me to let me know: 

  • Do you have a new and continuous cough?

  • Do you have a high temperature or fever?

  • Have you noticed a loss or change in sense of smell/taste?

  • Have you been around anyone who has had symptoms in the last 14 days?

  • Have you noticed a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell?

  • Have you travelled internationally within the last 14 days?

 

If you answer “yes” to any of these questions, I may need to cancel your appointment and arrange for you to attend another time.

 

Coming for your appointment

  • Before you leave your home, please check your temperature, and consider if you are experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms.

  • Please bring your own water to your appointment. Unfortunately, I am unable to provide glasses to individual clients.

  • For your safety and to maintain social distancing, please do not arrive early for your appointment. If you arrive slightly early, please wait outside of the venue. This will ensure that you do not come into contact with other clients leaving the premises.

  • When you arrive, you will be asked to take off your shoes, use the hand sanitiser provided and walk into the room without touching anything. You can wear a mask and disposable gloves if you feel more comfortable (this can also be kept on during your treatment), however these will need to be brought with you to the appointment. I will be wearing a visor at all times.

 

My role in ensuring your safety before and during your treatment

  • All treatment rooms used will be cleaned thoroughly with disinfectant both before and after each client’s session. This includes door handles and all surfaces. 

  • All equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety, both before and after your session.

  • I will be using personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment. This will include disposable gloves and a visor.

  • The treatment table will be cleaned thoroughly before use with disinfectant and will be covered with disposable paper couch roll. The surfaces below will also be and the cleaned between each client. 

  • My work clothes will be washed at 60°C.

  • All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area every day.

  • I understand the importance of hand hygiene and I will ensure I wash my hands in accordance with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment.

  • I will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments, please let me know and I will do what I can to assist you. 

  • I have carried out a risk assessment for Therapy sessions and Reiki treatments and I am confident I can continue to provide these safely.

 

 

After the treatment

  • In order to avoid handling of cash, I would prefer if you could pay for your treatment by card or in advance using bank transfer. If this is not possible, disposable gloves should be worn when handling cash.

  • Please leave the room as you entered, without touching anything, and in sufficient time, in order to ensure sufficient cleaning time before the next clients’ appointment.

  • All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and mine. I will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.
